Peggy,
Interesting challenge! You could setup a time based notification that would include all rows change since the last notification, but that wouldn’t create the simple summary because it will just spit out a list of rows that changed in the email…Before making any more suggestions, I need to understand a little bit more about the process. What is the frequency of the updates to the checkboxes. Are they on a certain cadence like once a day, twice a day, or do the scripts just run whenever?
If there is a specific cadence, then that’s a bit easier to deal with.
If you want to to run tomorrow remember to update the day of the week to Tuesday.
Louise,
Check the date that the automation starts on. Today (Monday) is 4/14/25 . If you have it starting on 4/15/25, that is tomorrow so it won’t start until next Monday (4/21/25)
Michael,
Bridge is certainly one to to do it. But not the only way.
The key here is that you need to get the report data into a sheet so that you can operate on them for your metrics.
Remember that Bridge is just an interface to use Smartsheet’s API, so with that being said anything you can do with Bridge you can do outside of Bridge, with the proper tools.
Some ways to accomplish what you are asking for:
1. Bridge
2. Smartsheet DataMesh could possibly work, see this session at about the 13 minute timestamp: https://smartsheetguru.com/2025/03/07/06-mar-2025-session-datamesh-advantages-over-index-match/
3. Report to Sheet add-on: https://smartsheetguru.com/smartsheet-report-to-sheet/
4. Make.com : https://smartsheetguru.com/make
5. Microsoft’s Power Automate
6. Custom API Script
7. Anything else that makes your life easier to work with the API like Zapier, etc.Michael,
Bridge won’t help you with this.
You have a few options to let users download an attachment from a row on a SS Dashboard.
1. Embed a link to the sheet or a report and have the users click on that to go to download it from the row. This requires them to be shared as viewers though.
2. Publish the sheet/report and embed it as a web content widget. This allows the user to directly download from the row on the dashboard
3. If you have Dynamic view, you could embed the Dynamic View on the dashboard and users could download directly from there.

You must be logged in to view attached files.April 4, 2025 at 7:06 am in reply to: Copying/moving a row from sheet to sheet with cell formulas #624Ok. So, the sheets are NOT in control center currently? If they were, we could do a find and replace to update the cell formulas.
To update rows in existing sheets, you’d need to know the row number in the destination sheet. For a couple sheets, you could do that manually. Otherwise, you’d want a way to search the sheets by some row identifier (can be any cell that’s unique) and update them from the source row.
Do you have what you need, or still need something additional worked up?

Here’s a video. This should at least give you the modules and method to do what you need to do. In summary, you’ll have to get the data from each column and add it to the new sheet.
I suppose if you have less column formulas than column values, you could copy the row, then update that row with just the column formulas vs having to add each column callout. You have a lot of columns in those sheets!
April 3, 2025 at 4:33 pm in reply to: Copying/moving a row from sheet to sheet with cell formulas #621Kevin,
In those example sheets, would the goal be to copy the row from the XX sheet to the ST sheet, keep the formulas, then manually put it into the correct hierarchy? We can obviously update the formulas in the cells in the ST sheet from the XX sheet, but that’s assuming the row already exists in the ST sheet.
If you want to copy a row from the XX sheet to the ST sheet and keep all the formulas, we could do that too, but what would be the trigger from the XX sheet?
By the way, I’d like to make a video eventually showing the solution, so I’m going to make a couple sheets to show the principles in Bridge, then you can duplicate for your use case.
I don’t want to work on your live sheets anyway!!!!

That could be done copying the row using a custom API call.Would you be up for me working something in bridge?
If so, share an example sheet to guru@smartsheetguru.com and I’ll get that in my queue.
Louise,
I’ve had similar experiences with Smartsheet reports when changing source columns.I think the cleanest way would be to:
- uncheck those columns with the exclamations points
- Save the report
- Refresh the report
- Add the revised columns in
See if that changes the behavior. I don’t think it’s user error, I think it is the Smartsheet interface.
Louise,
Here it is. Getting any number of attachments from a Smartsheet row and attaching them to an Outlook email with the same names as they were in Smartsheet! No OneDrive needed, Power Automate processes the attachments and sticks them on the Outlook email.
Hopefully you can follow this video ok, ask for any clarifications!
Good deal on the formatting.
Wanted to follow up about the attachments. I was able to take the attachment from a row added in Smartsheet and attach and send it through and Outlook email.
I did this 2 different ways.
1. Move the file to OneDrive, then pull the file from OneDrive to the PA email module
2. Download the file into PA and attach it directly onto the Outlook email (no need to put it on OneDrive first!)I tried this with 1 attachment on the row. If you had more than 1 attachment, that would have be accounted for, but it would be doable.
My flow is a bit messy, could be cleaned up some. Wanted to let you know in case you were still trying to attach a Smartsheet attachment to an Outlook email in Power Automate. For #2 above I also would need to track the filename coming form Smartsheet into Power Automate.
In summary, you can get the attachment(s) from a SMartsheet row and attach them into the Outlook email all in Power Automate. No need to involve OneDrive or Sharepoint.
That’s definitely doable, just that we might have to put the files on OneDrive or a Sharepoint as an intermediary to get them onto the email.
Also, I suspose what we didn’t do in your first solution is format the email. But, you can probably handle that with the formatting tools in Power Automate?
Great ! I find when Power Automate does things for you, it’s nice IF it works, but when it doesn’t or something changes, it’s hard to troubleshoot because you didn’t create the loops yourself….
In other news, I am working on getting the attachments onto an email in Power Automate. As of now, it looks like we’ll have to transfer the attachments from the Smartsheet row to OneDrive then attach them to the email.
Going to investigate if we an bypass OneDrive, but unsure if Power Automate can handle the files directly within the workflow.
Is the column you are using to get the email a text column in Smartsheet or is it a Contact Column type?
From my testing, it shouldn’t make a difference…
I am attaching an export of my flow, bring that in to your account and update your column ID’s, authentication, etc and let me know if that makes a difference?
